Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 October 2026 · Applies to the ResumeIQ website (www.myresumeiq.io) and the ResumeIQ Chrome extension · Published by myresumeiq.io
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in.
- Your resume and profile: the resume files you upload, the text read from them (work history, education, skills), and the application details you enter, such as name, phone, location, links and – only if you choose to fill them in – voluntary self-identification answers.
- Jobs: the job postings you save or open with ResumeIQ (title, company, location, description and address), your match scores, and the resumes generated for them.
- Applications: when you use autofill, the questions on the application form, so we can work out answers; answers you save for reuse; and a record of applications made with ResumeIQ.
What the Chrome extension reads
- The page you're on, only when you use the extension: while the ResumeIQ side panel is open, it reads the job posting or application form on the current tab so it can show your match and fill the form. It does not read other tabs, and it does not record your browsing history.
- Your ResumeIQ sign-in: on the ResumeIQ website, it picks up the session you're signed in with, so you don't sign in twice.
- Stored in your browser: your session, recent match scores and draft resumes are kept in Chrome's extension storage on your computer.
The extension asks Chrome for access to all websites because job postings and application forms can be on any company's site. It only acts on a page when you open its panel or click one of its buttons.
How we use it
- To score how well you fit a job and show what's holding the match back.
- To reword your resume for a job (using only what your resume already says) and render it as a PDF.
- To fill in application forms for you to review, and to write a cover letter when a form asks for one.
- To keep the service running and improve it, using product analytics on the website that record which features are used – not the text you type or your resume.
Your data is used only to provide these features. We do not sell it, share it with data brokers, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or let people read it except where you ask us for help or the law requires it.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase – database, sign-in and file storage.
- Vercel – hosting for the website and its servers.
- Groq and Anthropic – AI models that read your resume and the job text to score, reword and fill in answers. They process the text to produce a response; under their API terms, they don't use it to train their models.
- Reactive Resume (our own hosted instance) – resume design editing and PDF generation.
- PostHog – product analytics on the website, with text and form contents masked.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. To delete your account and everything linked to it – resumes, profile, saved jobs, generated resumes and application records – email rahul@myresumeiq.io and we'll do it within 30 days. Removing the extension deletes what it stored in your browser.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your resume files are kept in private storage that isn't publicly accessible; ResumeIQ shows them only to your signed-in account.
Children
ResumeIQ is for job seekers aged 18 and over.
